Why Volunteer?

We are a group of individuals and families throughout the Upper Valley and beyond who proudly work together to create a community where people with special needs, across the spectrum and throughout their lifespan, can live their best lives. We can’t do this without members of our community.

Are you?

  • Patient and kind.
  • Consistent and excellent.
  • Do you like to Have fun!
  • Do you have some time to dedicate to your fellow community members?

IF so SNSC would love to have you as a volunteer!

SNSC provides a variety of opportunities for volunteers – for both individuals interested in working directly with youth and adults with disabilities and those who want to “help out around the house.” We regularly enlist the help of businesses, church groups, youth programs, and others to help us on various projects.

Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Camp Aspire: Work one-on-one with kids and teens through our Aspire Program, which includes free camp opportunities for children with disabilities during vacation and holiday breaks from school. We plan fun days at the lake for swimming, boating, and various other activities and field trips in our area. We need volunteers who would be willing to accompany our campers as they adventure during the summer.
  • Adult Program: SNSC provides a variety of social and educational programs for adults with disabilities. Volunteers help everyone stay safe & have fun, support participants in the activities, and socialize and build relationships with our participants and their families. We have a variety of time commitments, which could range from once a month for a few hours, to a couple of hours a week.
  • Parent Educational Support and Advocacy: provide support in all aspects of the special education and Section 504 process to promote understanding of the relevant state and federal rules, and regulations while supporting parents in clarifying their ideas and concerns regarding their child’s education.
  • Fundraising: Help SNSC with our yearly fundraising! These opportunities are both in-person and virtual! Get involved as a fundraising volunteer and help us promote our fundraisers, host a fundraising team during an online fundraisers, or host a fundraising event yourself!
  • Administrative: with various tasks and projects (such as data entry, mailings, filing, etc…).
  • Trade skills: SNSC will often have events such as ( picnics, bbq’s and fundraisers), these events often need help to be set up and broken down, and just coming out to lend a hand for these specialty events is invaluable to our success.
